Dr. Yanamadula’s special interests are in the area of low back pain, neck pain, nerve pain, and in the diagnosis and treatment of joint pain.

Many different modalities are utilized at Princeton Pain and Spine Institute ranging from medication utilization to optimize pain relief, to implementing a physical therapy program tailored to the individual's condition and if those modalities are not effective than minimally invasive procedures may be used. Christine Savela, PT, DPT

Dr. Savela is our physical therapist at Princeton Pain and Spine Institute. She is a native of New Hampshire, where she grew up an athlete and first found her love for physical therapy. She attended Springfield College as a dual sport athlete, playing volleyball and softball. In 2009, she graduated with her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Springfield College. In 2011, she graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Sage Graduate School. Dr. Savela began her career as a physical therapist in Connecticut where her and her husband lived for 6 years. She worked in outpatient orthopedics for a private practice. In 2015, she relocated to New Jersey where she has treated pediatric patients, in addition to outpatient orthopedics.

Dr. Savela initiated our Princeton Pain and Spine Institute Physical Therapy program in 2019 to coincide with the pain management program of Dr. Yanamadula. Physical Therapy is a wonderful conservative treatment that can effectively manage and treat symptoms associated with musculoskeletal and neurological dysfunction. Dr. Savela has treated patients of all ages, in a variety of clinical areas including: orthopedics, geriatrics, athletics, post-operative, and post-MVA. She practices an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to treatment. Her treatments have a strong emphasis on manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, postural/core stability, therapeutic activity, and extensive patient education.

At Princeton Pain and Spine, we do physical therapy differently, as we focus on the best interest of the patient. Our goal is to reduce your pain, improve your function, and to minimize your need for medication for pain control. Each patient has a comprehensive physical therapy evaluation, lasting approximately 1 hour. During that session, you are working one-on-one with Dr. Savela for the duration. Our treatment sessions are customized for each individual patient and includes hands on manual therapy. You will work one-on-one with your therapist during each session and your program will be tailored to your needs and abilities. Dr. Savela will communicate with your referring physician, primary care physician, and any other pertinent medical professionals regarding your progress with physical therapy.

When not treating patients, Christine especially enjoys spending time with her family. Her and her husband, Addison, have three young daughters who keep them busy. They enjoy visiting the beach, exploring museums, traveling the world, and visiting their home states and families.
